Kata

Word-by-word captions, right in Premiere.

Kata transcribes your clip on your own Mac, times every word, and places the captions on your timeline as real Premiere text: the TikTok look, without leaving Premiere.

Premiere Pro 26 or newer · Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) · 14-day free trial in the panel, no card

Four styles to start

Rise · words rise in, one by one
Karaoke · the spoken word lights up
Box · a box follows the spoken word
Long Box · the line fills in as it's said

Make your own: design a caption in Premiere, copy it, and add it to Kata.

Questions

Does Kata upload my audio or use AI?

No LLMs, nothing uploaded. Kata transcribes with a speech model that runs on your Mac. When you place captions it only checks your code with samstool.com: no words, audio or files are sent.

Which languages?

Indonesian and English, mixed too. Add names and spellings once and Kata gets them right every time.

Windows? Intel Macs?

Not yet: Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or newer) for now.

What does it cost?

Free for 14 days. Paid plans open soon; message Samuel from the panel if you need more time.

How do I update?

When there's a new version, Kata shows Update at the top of the panel. One click.
